Search "kitchen remodel cost" and you'll drown in three kinds of pages: HGTV-flavored fantasies that quote $10,000 kitchens no one actually gets; contractor sites with pricing "starting at" numbers designed to get you on a call; and industry associations quoting decade-old survey averages.
KitchenBudgetPlanner was built to be a fourth option — a plain-English, independently maintained reference for what kitchen work actually costs in the US market, updated as prices move. We publish detailed cost breakdowns by finish tier, region, and scope, plus planning guides for people doing this for the first time.

Editorial standards
Every cost figure on this site is grounded in one of three sources: current mid-2026 market data from national trade associations (NKBA, NAHB), pricing data from national retailers and IKEA, or direct quotes from independent contractors in multiple US metros. We update articles as prices shift and always flag when a figure is aging.
We are not a lead-generation site for a specific contractor or brand. If we mention a product, brand, or contractor network, it's because it's demonstrably relevant to the topic — not because someone paid us to put them there. See our affiliate disclosure for how we handle links to retailers.
